The Cardinal Hills is a region in Ermron enveloping the Northern and Southern Hills. Despite the miles between the two, they have similar cultures due to their status as labor mines, where people are sent to pay off extreme debt.

The main geographical features are two mountain ranges in the west of Ermron, the Northern Hills and the Southern Hills. Most people in this region live inside the mountains themselves, in towns carved into the rock.

There are a few market towns near the entrances to the labor mines, as well as a Surane tower near the Southern Hills

The Cardinal Hills, in stark contrast to the rest of Ermron, is a very collectivist region. The harsh conditions inside the hills have forged most of prisoners together, as any setback or outburst brings heavy punishment upon all. They value order, knowing that any shread of chaos has to be carefully planned and meticulously executed.

Folk from the Cardinal Hills are often of solid build, having been forged in the mines.
